The Children’s Court Assistance Scheme (CCAS) supports young people appearing on criminal charges at Parramatta and Bidura Children’s Courts. The CCAS is funded by the Public Purpose Fund and administered by the NSW Legal Aid Commission.
Our service is part of a state-wide program of Children’s Court Support Services. Visit the Legal Aid Children’s Court Assistance Program website for information on schemes that service Illawarra, Hunter, Macarthur, and the Central Coast local Courts.

Tips for going to court
If you are under 18 you are entitled to free legal assistance from Legal Aid or the Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS).
Don’t miss your court date. You are legally required to attend your hearing.
Bring all your court or police paperwork with you.
Wear clean neat clothes and don’t wear caps, sunnies, or beanies into the courtroom.
It is helpful to have your parents, a youth worker or your employer with you.
It can take a long time before you go into court so bring lunch and something to read.
Your case may not be finalised on the day and you may have to return. Remember to get your new court date.
CCAS is heavily dependent on volunteer youth workers under the supervision of the scheme coordinators.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call WSCLC on (02) 8833 0920 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
