Supervised Child Contact and Changeover – Central West Contact Service
Central West Contact Service (CWCS) provides supervised contact and supervised changeover services to families experiencing high family conflict. The centre’s aim is to assist in maintaining the fundamental right of children to have a safe and meaningful relationship with both parents where possible. The centre is partially funded by Department of Social Services and is government regulated.
This service is a fee paying service.
The centre provides two entrances allowing children to be brought to the centre safely without the risk of parents coming in contact with each other, therefore minimising the risk of conflict or potential exposure to violence.
The service works with families and makes referrals for assistance and additional support such as counselling and parenting programs to assist families in working towards self management.
Due to the high demand on our service, following intake there is a wait period for supervised contacts to begin, subject to suitability following intake assessments. Where the service is being used for supervised changeovers, subject to suitability following intake assessments there is no wait period.
CWCS provides high level security and is subject to strict conditions to ensure the safety of all users.
The centre provides reports and in depth case notes in all matters. Access to these reports and case notes is subject to Subpoena only.
Due to demand on the service please note the centre prioritises matters that are currently before the family court.
