Supervised Child Contact and Changeover – Central West Contact Service
Central West Contact Service (CWCS) is a service for separated families that helps children to spend time with all the members of their family. Our qualified and trained staff ensure a relaxed, safe, child oriented and confidential environment for children and their parents.
Our Service Philosophy
“To uphold the right of children to contact with non-residential parents in a physically and emotionally safe environment.”
CWCS offers two kinds of services. A nominal fee is charged for all services and both parents are required to contribute to fees.
Supervised Contact Sessions are 2 hours per fortnight visits where children spend time with a parent or family member at the service. A supervisor is present at ALL times.
Changeover and Changeback is a service where our premises are used as the exchange point for children going on visits with the non-residential parent. It helps avoid conflict and stress for children and parents. Parents are not required to come in contact with each other and the children are protected from witnessing conflict.
You need to contact our office and make an appointment for an interview intake. Your application will be evaluated based on our eligibility criteria. We will take into consideration:
the commitment of both parents to the program and to sign the service agreement
the situation of the parent that doesn’t live with the children
the wishes of the children
the health of the children
any history of violent offences and/or offences against children
the existence of Apprehended Violence orders and recorded breaches among others
