PLT Volunteers
Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC) is seeking expressions of interest for participation in its Practical Legal Training (PLT) Program.
How will it benefit you?
By participating in WSCLC’s PLT Program, you will be given meaningful opportunities to develop professional legal practice skills, competencies and knowledge; gain work experience in a legal practice in a social justice environment, and to complete the practical component of a PLT course. If you are passionate about making a difference to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities to effectively navigate the legal system, have a community mindset and keen to learn from legal specialists in this area, this role will appeal to you.
What do we expect from you?
- able to commit to at least 2 days per week on a voluntary basis;
- dedicated, demonstrates initiative, is a problem solver, has a critical thinking mindset and enjoys challenges and issues within the community oriented legal and work environment;
- has excellent written, communication, administrative, digital, legal research and analytical skills;
- high level achievement in your law studies;
- empathetic, caring and people-centred, and
- willingness to attend WSCLC’s offices at Parramatta and Rooty Hill and community-based outreach and Local Court locations in Western Sydney, under supervision.
