Volunteer Students
WSCLC strongly encourages law students to apply to volunteer as it is a great way to learn useful skills, and you will be helping our local community by providing the most appropriate legal assistance. Volunteer students are the first point of contact for our clients and are responsible for client intake and referrals.

Our Western Sydney Tenants’ Service (WESTS) team are looking for volunteers to be part of our dynamic team specialising in tenancy law and advocacy for tenants (in Western Sydney) from the private market, and those who are with social housing providers. You’ll be working directly with our Intake and Referral Officers and Tenants’ Advocates in a Morning or Afternoon Shift to take down client information, perform research tasks and assist in preparation for community legal education sessions. And you’ll also have the opportunity to attend the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal to help our advocates with Conciliations, Formal Hearings and Evidence Preparation. Your role as a Volunteer is vital and core to our daily operations, and therefore we only ask that you are able to prioritise tasks, have great interpersonal and communication skills, a willingness to learn and an interest in social justice. Our team is a tight-knit, progressive and come from a multi-disciplinary background, and we would love for you to join and add your experience or stories to ours.
